What to wear
Author: Diane Omondi
ISBN: 978 9966 347 05 3
The story reinforces the theme of weather. This theme is taught using the clothes that children wear when they go to school. Lina doesn’t know how to tell/predict the weather. She waits to see what other children are putting on so that she can dress like them the following day. If yesterday’s weather was rainy, Lina would put on a heavy jacket and gumboots today and she will carry an umbrella. She will be disappointed to find a windy day. If the weather yesterday was windy, Lina would dress the way other children in class had dressed. She will put on a hood and if it was a very sunny day, she will put on light clothes today. She will then find that the weather is very cold! One day, Lina learns how to tell the weather. Everybody claps for her when she dresses like other children in class. Lina learns after making several mistakes.
