Description
Moran Agriculture for Grade 8 is a coursebook developed in line with the Competency Based Curriculum. It facilitates the development of specified competencies, skills, knowledge, values and attitudes necessary for learning Agriculture.
The coursebook employs an inquiry-based approach to learning in all activities, which equips the learner with the necessary competencies and skills to learn, discover and apply.
This coursebook has the following key sections:
• The Get started section at the beginning of the sub strand stimulates the learner’s interest in the concept to be studied
• The Think and share section saliently introduces the concept by encouraging critical thinking
• The Learning activity section forms the basis of each skill and concept. Through the simple-to-complex approach, learners are able to achieve inclusive and gradual learning. Learning experiences in each activity logically address the three domains of learning while catering for different learning styles
• The Learning corner segment at the end of the activity provides the necessary information, explanation, procedures or illustrations to enhance the understanding of the concept covered
• The Self-check corner section at the end of the activity gives the learner an opportunity for self-evaluation of the learnt concept
• The Extended activity section gives learners an opportunity to apply the learnt skills to perform real-life tasks in their immediate environment
• The Revision exercise section at the end of each sub strand provides adequate tasks to assess the learner’s understanding of the concepts learnt.
