History and Citizenship Grade 11 is a comprehensive coursebook developed in line with the Competency Based Curriculum. It has been prepared after in-depth research to enable the learner to acquire the specified knowledge, skills and competencies outlined in the Grade 11 History and Citizenship curriculum design. The content in this book is carefully formulated and organised to enable learners to research, explore, have a deep understanding and relate History and Citizenship knowledge to day-to-day societal occurrences.

The items in each activity are progressively developed to address all the domains of learning while taking care of the different learner styles.
- Assess yourself: Contains tasks that support self-assessment.
- Summary notes: Contains comprehensive notes that enable the learner to confirm their findings after independent learning.
- Extended activity: Presents additional tasks to reinforce learning.
- Fieldwork: Presents tasks requiring the learner to apply the developed competencies in their environment.
- Assessment task: Contains tasks that support formative and summative assessment.
