This story reinforces the themes of neighbourhood and home. Children often play in the homestead. However, there are things or areas around the home where they are forbidden from accessing without the presence of an adult. But children will always want to do what they are forbidden from doing. This is what the two baby monkeys do. Their mother always monitor them play on the trees near the river but forbids them from going into the river because crocodiles live in the river. Today father and mother are inside the house. Vic will play with his friend. Vic goes near the river. He sees a very big stone in the water and wants to stand on the rock. He believes that he will feel good. Vic does what he wants. His friend is afraid that Vic is disobeying his parents. Soon the rock starts moving. Vic is so happy. Oops! It is not a rock but a crocodile! It wants to eat Vic. Vic jumps and holds a branch of a tree. The crocodile keeps pulling Vic and Vic keeps pulling away. The crocodile is pulling Vic’s short tail with its mouth but as the pulling continues, the tail gets longer and longer. His friend screams and calls for help. Vic’s father comes to save Vic. But Vic’s tail is already very long. What will Vic do with such a long tail?
